Today I sat down with God, and I asked, “If you were to write a love letter to humans on Valentine’s Day, what would you say to them?”
This was what I received:
The Letter
Dear human, my love, my child,
You are my creation. You carry inside you a piece of me. You have named it the Kingdom of God. It is true. In that kingdom you will find many treasures. They have your name on it. All of my qualities are there for your picking. My hope is that you use your treasures as often as you can. The joy, the peace, the patience, the kindness, the diplomacy, the abundance, the beauty, the tolerance, the optimism, the compassion, and many more. And the greatest of all, is love.
If I have arms I’d give you a big hug, and wish you all the blessings you deserve. But I don’t have arms. So I send you other humans. That’s love.
When you feel defeated, when you are sad, when you are in pain and grieving, and when tears flow, I send you angels to console you. They whisper words of encouragement, uplifting thoughts, and infuse your body with a warm nurturing feeling, so you may feel comforted. And this breaks the spell of downward spiral. That’s love.
When you get home, and find your dog and cat, waiting to greet you, that’s me saying, “Welcome home. I’m so glad to see you.” That’s love.
When you are in nature, and hear the gurgling of the water in the stream, and the chirping of the birds, and see the trees swaying in the wind, and a rainbow in the distance, and all the other beauties of nature, they put a smile on your face, and bring joy to your heart. And you feel at that moment, all is well with the world. That’s love.
And at night time, when you find yourself laying on the ground, and looking up into the night sky, that’s blanketed with stars, some twinkling more than others, and some shining brighter than others, you feel the vastness of existence, not knowing that I have other creations, not all look like you, on those stars, looking back at your planet, with the same wonderment. That’s love.
Everywhere you go, everything you see, carry a piece of me, and that is love. My greatest wish on this Day of Love, and everyday, is for you to be love. Be the essence of your creation. Be the shining example of my love, God’s love. You are my greatest gift to the Universe.
It has always been love, it will always be love, and it always is love. Be LOVE.
